CHANEL Cleansing Collection Review

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] CHANEL has really ramped up their cleansing offerings – gel, micellar, foam, oil and soap (which I really want to try!) – and now La Mousse and Le Masque. It’s always seemed strange to me that there is no cleansing balm in their line-up but who knows, maybe they’re working on it? Fingers and toes crossed for that one.

La Mousse is right for you if you like a quick post-work out cleanse that will spring your skin back to life by removing every last trace of sweat. It’s great for cleaning the skin of make-up, sweat, grime, marmite – I mean, you do you – for all skin types, but having tested it out, it just feels quite sporty to me compared to the others. It’s a purifying blend so if you run to oily, it’s probably better suited to you than if you run dry. La Mousse’s USP is that it uses marine plant extracts to combat pollution and cell stress.

Le Masque is a joy – a mask and exfoliator in one formula and perfect partner to La Mousse. You apply it to your clean skin, wait five minutes and activate the exfoliation by using circular motions with your fingers on your face. It’s a blend of ceramides and white clay, so again, perhaps better suited if you run to oily. What it will feel is madly smooth! Goodness, this is addictive stuff. The ‘scrub’ is in fact camellia husks and jojoba beads set at exactly the right point that you get a gentle but thorough exfoliation.

They both have gentle fragrance which is something to look out for if you are sensitive. A little goes a long way with both formulas so despite the prices being higher than your average cleanser and scrub, you can use less. I haven’t done the complicated maths calculation to support that but it was something I noticed, initially with La Mousse and with the Le Masque, you are specifically instructed to use a thin layer on the face. Le Masque is £60 and La Mousse is £46 HERE.

I have been using La Mousse for three years. It’s one of the most economical cleansers because you need a tiny amount to work up into a lather. It’s gentle yet thoroughly cleansing. One tube of La Mousse lasts 6 months.
