The Chanel CC Cream, £41, that launches on 16th August (or this Friday in the Covent Garden store) has been around in Asia for some time, so while it’s new to us in the UK it’s not new-new as such.
So, there is one shade, Beige Rose, and key ingredients are as follows: Cornflower water to soothe, Hyaluronic acid to moisturize, mineral sunscreen (SFP30 / PA+++) , restructuring active ingredient, Rejuvencia* to prevent and correct signs of aging, Mineral pigments to even out skin tone and conceal imperfections (redness, dark spots, pores). However, the shade from Asia, Beige, will be available in the Covent Garden store only.
Given that I’m still rather obsessed with the Chanel Le Jour, La Nuit and Le Weekend skin care (although Le Weekend is emerging as my favourite) this couldn’t have come along at a better time.
It’s actually quite a small tube – 30ml.
And the shade is a warm beige with hints of rose. However, when I first put it on my face it seemed very pale on my skin tone, but as you’ll see in the next swatch, the colour warms up a bit. Consistency wise, it’s rather dry feeling so you will need moisturiser underneath – the closest one I can liken in to in terms of feel is Clinique.
So the first swatch looks pale, the second (earlier) is a little darker and the final (even earlier) is darker still. The beige tones seem to come out later than the rose tones. I cannot fault the finish – a little bit dewy but definitely good coverage (I needed a bit extra to conceal dark circles) and a very polished finish. It’s a must-try for Chanel fans.
