It’s not often I get a hand mixed sample of nail polish, but this one is so early, early for next autumn that it’s still only at sample stage. Nonie Creme, creative director of butterLONDON nail polish aimed for ‘luxe grunge’ for the A/W11 catwalk shows and mixed up custom colours for various designers. So, that’s how this one, Bluey, came to be. The colour is quite complex (and therefore an absolute b***ard to photograph!) with blue/green tones and a hint of greenish shimmer – bigger that usual shimmers but not quite glitter. Despite its name, I find it more green than blue, but it’s truly beautiful.

Handily I’ve just been sent a proper image so I think it gives a clearer idea of how the colour really is:

gorgeous colour!!
I hope that shade of green is really popular next autumn i love it in the colder weather!!
Yum-O. How exciting to get a hand mixed sample too!
Don’t really like this. Seems a bit ‘flat.’ They did a blue one for vena cava a couple of seasons back which was AMAZING but they strangely didn’t release it. The purple again for Vena Cava was released and called Marrow but it wasn’t the same shade and was a disappointment. If you are reading Nonie release the blue and ‘true’ purple!!!
beautiful!! I always love nail polishes by Butter London!!
That’s a stunning colour, like a petrol blue-green.
Could see myself purchasing that one!
