Bourjois Parisian Summer

Bourjois Parisian Summer

There are so many new Bourjois launches that I hardly know where to start! I’m going to split the new product collections into three posts so I can do them all properly. First up is Bourjois Parisian Summer – all things bronzing and sun kissed glow.

Although I genuinely like them all, my favourite product is The Smooth Effect Sun Illusion (£9.99); a tinted blur product that makes skin feel like velvet and warms up your tone. The texture is so light (although it feels a bit gloopy until its worked into the skin) and it absolutely does blur, expecially across the nose pores. However, it’s not a super-blur – you get a light effect that’s perfect for very natural looking make-up. The only thing I’d say about it is that it’s not going to last you all day – and as it has no sun protection, I’d be more likely to use this in the evenings.

Next, from the Bourjois Parisian Summer collection is the Mat Illusion Bronzer (£7.99) – a smoothing and mattifying sun effect with no shimmer. I’ve got to say it, but it’s the same kind of soft, hydrating-feeling texture as the Chanel bronzers that I covered last week.

The Satin + Sunlight Elixir (£11.99) was a surprise – I thought I’d hate this but it’s the warmest glow in a dry oil formula for body that can also be used on the face. It’s minorly twinkly, but works into the skin flawlessly. It turned my pasty London based, white arm into one that had just come back from Ibiza! It contains SPF15 and has a light tropical scent.

Finally, the BB Bronzing Cream (£9.99). It’s really hard to go from winter to spring, tone wise, without things going wrong. I’d say for the SPF15 BB to look its best, you probably need to have some natural tan going on – either that or pay attention to your neck. However, it’s a beautiful formula in that it gives a decent amount of coverage with a bit of radiance and humidity resistance. It’s not a new product but it’s been boosted up for the Bourjois Parisian Summer collection.

For the swatch, I’ve used the Sunlight Elixir as a base and over the top (from bottom to top) is Mat Illusion Bronzer, Smooth Effect Sun Illusion and BB Bronzing Cream. It’s all launching in April – just when we’re really craving that sun effect.

That dry oil looks incredible! I use the St Tropez version, so this one is definitely more purse friendly.

  2. I’m so pale that i’m really cautious of bronzing products, the oil looks really interesting though and it’s a great price! Looks like I will no longer have to put up with milk bottle legs 😀

Help! I can’t find this product anywhere. It’s just what I’m looking for to cheer up my pale legs for my wedding. When/where is this available from (UK)? Thanks.

What has happened to this collection? It still isn’t in stores and its not even in full on either Boots’ or Superdurg’s websites.
