The Bourjois Paris Belle Epoque Collection seems more ice queen than spring fling, but they’re so pretty for spring when pastels will reign. The eye shadows are super-glimmery – they are sparkle packed and the polishes are creamy blends that stop the blue shades being a little cold.
I’ve only partially captured the twinkles – they’re ten-fold to how they show up here, but the creamy-white shade is called Blanc Nymphea and the duck-egg blue is Ciel Aquarelle. I don’t yet have the two Khol & Contour pens – Blue Espiegle; a vivid, aqua blue and Morning Lime which is an almost grassy, power-packed green.
The nail shades, Succes Azure (bright) and Ciel Mon Vernis (off-white blue) have a secondary look – as a dip dye for graded nail effects. Bourjois will be selling mini triangular sponges but if you’re already a nail effect fan, you probably have them in your kit already.
Combined with the blue theme are two new glosses – both peachy-rose shades and I’ll swatch them separately at another time. We should see these rolling out into stores in March 2014.
