So, here’s Bourjois’ first ever best-seller – even before baked powders were born. This is the original ad (a copy of) for Java Face Powder which sold 2,500,000 units nationwide – that’s in 1914! Java is what put Bourjois on the beauty map from its conception in 1879. It came in four shades originally, and ended up with eleven.

It’s obviously had a revamp in texture and ingredients for its return in September (nationwide, but on pre-sale at Selfridges from July) for £9.99. Now, the original rice powder is a fine, oil munching, feather-light powder to set your make-up.

looks great, I’m loving the company at the moment… Just bought their new lipstick Color Boost – great… and bronzer – can’t wait to buy this powder too 🙂
I NEED IT, I NEED IT NOW! Why oh why must I wait until September? Waah this is the Bourjois Cream Blush wait all over again!
This looks lovely and it’s definitely something I’ll be buying even if it is because it’s pretty. I’m currently in love with drugstore makeup so this will just reinforce it!
I want this, not only for the packaging (which is gloriously old fashioned), but also because I like the idea of a powder munching away the oil on my face. 😀
