[unpaid/purchase] I spotted this pair of Bourjois Healthy Mix Lip Sorbets on-line on a buy-one-get-one-half-price offer, so despite having more lip products than I could count in a day, I got pulled in because I’ve always loved Bourjois and Superdrug is the only place you can find this brand in the UK these days. Anyway, I’m pleased I did because they’re actually both delightful, easy wears and at £10.99 each (factor in the offer and I paid £16.48 for the pair and unexpectedly got a free e.l.f. lip exfoliator thrown in either accidentally or as an extra) feel like quite the bargain when you put them up against other brands.
As you can see, I’ve been wearing both of them – I usually take pictures before I try the products but I forgot this time. The shades are Coral ‘n’ Cream (honestly, can we just be done with the annoying ‘n’ that pops up on so many beauty shade names?!) which is the more orange of the two and Red-freshing which, obviously, is the redder.
If you’re a blue-red fan, neither of these shades are for you because they both run warm. The red has a bit of orange and the orange has a bit of red.
For regular readers, these two, if combined together would very nearly make my beloved and discontinued Gucci Rene Pink which I’ve swatched in the centre. So near!
This is Coral ‘n’ Cream – it’s not as intense on the lips as it looks in the bullet and, as the name suggests, is a pleasantly creamy kind of a coral with some face wakening vibrancy. The texture of both is melty – when you first put it on it feels a little bit stiff on the lips but as soon as it warms to your temperature it becomes more shiny and fluid. Application initially can look patchy but ignore that because when the warmth hits it and you’ve done the obligatory post lipstick application ‘mwah’ it’s all even.
And this is Red-freshing. There are six other shades in pinks and nudes HERE.
