You don’t see many cream compact BB formulations, and I am totally compact base averse so this had a hard job to convince me it would be worth the effort.

But! It’s quite a surprise – not least because it is so hydrating and that is my bug-bear with other compact bases.. no matter how much they say it’s moisturising, it never quite is. Bourjois claim it’s 8-in-1 – I won’t go through them all; it’s enough to say that it’s top qualities are SPF20, anti-shine and that it does even out the complexion.

I’m not sure foundation and BB swatches ever work, really, but that’s it on my skin above.
The vents under the place where the sponge sits stop it drying out, so it feels slightly damp to the touch.
I think I am too much of a die-hard fluid base fan to ever really convert to a compact, but I’m genuinely impressed with the velvety texture, the hydration and the fact you can just chuck it in your bag and go, without worrying that the lid will come off.
It’s on a Selfridges exclusive at the moment at £11.99 (not on-line yet).

I am the same – I have never picked a compact over its fluid counterpart. I do like the packaging tho.
I’m not normally a fan of BB creams or compacts but this intrigues me, I would be interested to see the colour range.
I do actually use compact foundations and have done for many years as I like the coverage they provide and how quick and simple they are to apply. When I saw this I knew I wanted to try it however after emailing Bourjois to ask when this will be available in other shops such as Boots, I have had no response. I’m aware it’s available online from Selfridges but I don’t want to pay nearly £5 postage to get my hands on this! x
I like compacts. I have very oily skin though and it is true that you have to prep your skin before them.
Their sister brand UNE has had a BB Compact for quite some time now, also claiming it is 8-1. I wonder if they are similar in any way. May need to check the ingredient lists of both in the store.
