Boots Seventeen Newbies 2014: Eye Eye Pencil and SuperLash Mascara

Eye Eye

Boots Seventeen are launching a collection of eye shadow pencils on 22nd January, the one above you see is called Platinum, a dark grey shade. I love eye shadow pencils; they’re a godsend to anyone who struggles with the art of brush application and also I think they’re great for contact lense wearers because there are no little bits of dust coming off them that can irritate the eye.

But.. yes, there’s a but coming! Although the Seventeen EYEeye crayons are nicely priced at £3.99 each, they don’t live up to their long-wear claim. Although I almost never wear eye make up of any sort without a primer underneath to give them hold, you’d need to invest in one (such as UD) to keep this formula adhered to the lid. There are three other shades, Iced, Molten Metal and Jewel (blue). If you already have one, then they’re a cheap and cheery addition to the make up bag.

Next up is Superlash Mascara – loving the packaging; a real departure for Seventeen who have suddenly gone all Wonderwoman on us with this! I haven’t tested it but claims are that it has lightweight fibres in the formula (fibre mascaras are suddenly back in the spotlight) and the brush is volumizing. Can’t tell you any more than that, other than it’s £6.99 from 22nd. If it performs well, that’s a great price for a fibre mascara.
