Bodhi & Birch Body Oils

If you love a bracing body oil, you don’t need to look any further than the brand new Nordic White Spruce & Fennel from Body & Birch. It’s exactly that fresh and invigorating scent that makes you wake up straight away and I can see that it would be an amazing post-work out or running oil to soothe tired and achy muscles. It stays clear of a ‘linament’ attitude because the scents are so pure, and unlike many oils indicated for post-work out it doesn’t really have a medicinal smell.

I’m not quite such a fan of Chinois Blue, a blend of hyacinth and ginger although I was a bit delighted when I got a note of sloe gin from it! It’s quite a hard scent to categorise but its deep and quite woody; I think you’d need to like an embracing, heavy kind of scent for this one, although the blend cleverly plays down the hyacinth which can be rather heady.

In terms of oil performance – my goodness – it’s a delight. Your skin will love it. It’s a loose oil that sinks in leaving skin feeling softer and instantly more emolient. I’d say that at £42 each Bodhi & Birch Body Oils aren’t for everyday moisturising but for treat time: after a long, hot soak in the bath when you’re in the moment to spoil yourself. I’m always on for that – Nordic White is all the good things about winter that make you feel content and glad to be snuggled in your bed.

They’re HERE.
