The Shimmering Sands Eye Palette is very much the star of the Bobbi Brown Sandy Nudes collection. Twelve nude toned shades nestle in a flat compact with a double ended brush included. I did find in the swatching that there is a lot of fall out with the shimmer shades, so you need to be really careful when applying. With shimmers, it’s best to apply your eye twinkles first and then you can wipe away any fall and continue on with your makeup. Or, attach a piece of tissue under your eyes (with some vaseline) and let the tissue catch the rogue bits.
So, going around the palette the swatches are: Sand Castle, White Sand, Seashell, Sunkissed, Copper Sand, Suntan, Beach Pink, Seashore, Beach Bronzed, Golden Sand, Bronzed Sand and Black Sand. You can see that there’s a mix of shimmer and mattes in the mix.
The final item I have is the Face & Body Bronzing Duo – this one is Telluride and Elvis Duran; a peachy pink and medium bronze.
The compact is quite large – this will easily see you through summer and beyond probably – very wearable shades with the pink/peach doing the famous Bobbi ‘pop’ thing for your cheeks. It’s £34 which I think is a lot – there are other bronzer/blush combos that will do the same for less. The Palette is £52 which I think is really okay for 12 shades, even if they are little. But you have to love shimmer! They’re both HERE.

For 34 GBP, couldn’t they have made eye shadows that don’t fall on your face? It means Bobbi Brown (an Estee Lauder company) is trying to boost its profit margins. Moreover, the shimmer is very unkind to anyone with wrinkly lids.
I used to buy eye shadow palettes. Now, I buy individual colours and put them in a customisable palette pan — not from Bobbi Brown, but from Makeup For Ever (whose matte eye shadows are buttery soft and don’t flake onto your face).
Usually noone applies glitters with a dry brush on a dry skin, so it is not a quality issue – it is about following basic makeup application rules. To be applied either with a wet brush or on a cream eyeshadow/ creamy base. i have never had any fallout with BB’s glitter eyeshadow, whether applied one way or another, so I bought this right away because this palette is a great value vs single glitters.
Sorry I meant 52 GBP!
I got the Hot Nude palette from the previous collection and already one shadow has crumbled! Poor quality considering the cost.
They’re softer than they used to be, I am sure.
I must admit to feeling underwhelmed by Bobbi Brown’s palettes for a few years now. Both the texture and pigmentation are no match to the performance of Makeup Revolution’s amazing offerings.
Will hardcore BB fans punch me in the nose if I say it reminds me of the humble Sleek Au Natural palette? hehe
I saw the palette in store at Selfridges and found the shadows to be extremely hard and that some colors didn’t even transfer – just showed up as glitter swatched. I was really looking forward to this palette but it was a big pass from me.
because they are glitters. the second shade in a swatch is the same as spring LE glitter. I have it and when applied wet it is really gorgeous shade that looks like no other dry or cream texture. I saw this kind of glitter only in Tom Ford and Charlotte Tilbury quads, but I can’t buy quads just to get a glitter shade and I don’t know any other brand than BB who sells them separately as a range.
