Wondering how the Bobbi brand is getting along without Bobbi Brown? Well, it looks like it’s just fine because the new Crushed Lip Colors are the best thing I’ve seen from BB in a long time.
Although these are billed as matte, I find them a very ‘soft’ matte – not harsh or dry: in fact when I first tried them, I thought they were a satin finish. It’s really hard to describe them completely because they’re almost a blur finish. Because they don’t dry to flat matte, there is some transfer. The shade range is exceptional – every lip or complexion tone has been taken into consideration, and it’s a completely ageless collection. I can see someone of 20 loving them as much as someone of 80.
As is ever the case, the long-last claim of 8 hours doesn’t stand up – what are people who can get that kind of last doing all day? Standing still in a dark room with no food or drink? I just don’t know – but I do know that it’s zero effort to reapply.
In terms of pigment, I find them quite strong – a solid band of colour without being shouty. The lipsticks feel creamy on the lip and don’t lose their moist feeling. So here we go – the full line up:
Bottom to Top: Baby, Lilac, Bare, Cabana, Bitten. Bitten.
Bottom to top: Ruby, Watermelon, Crush, Sunset and Punch.
Bottom to Top: Cranberry, Angel, Cali Rose, Plum and Babe.
Bottom to Top (also taken in sunlight): Regal, Cherry, Grenadine, Telluride and Blackberry.
So, that’s the full line up – is there one there for you? They’re £24 each HERE (if you haven’t ordered from BB UK before, you get 15% off your first order).
