When I have back to back appointments all day, I’ve got to admit that occasionally my attention might wander. A bit. Like today, at the amazing Benefit launch of Fake Up Concealer, above. They put on a great show for us – a bit of a mystery tour if you like – and I was a) not concentrating and b) distracted by the show. So I thought the thing we were there to see was this:

Which somewhat alarmingly, turned into this:

And then this:

And I was so shocked that Benefit would have *this* (I genuinely thought they’d produced a sheet mask, but that the execution needed some work) that my eyes were nearly rolling out of my head. I took virtually no notice at all of the concealer because I was so surprised by what I was seeing.

When it came to leaving time, it was only a chance conversation with the PR when I asked about the sheet masks, and she looked blankly at me that the penny dropped. The ‘sheet mask’ wasn’t at all.. it was just a rather weird demonstration of moisture in the concealer – which as it turns out is very moisturising and is all set to banish concealer dryness from the world for six hours at a time.

In other Benefit news, if they ever forgive me for being so dim, there’s a Benefit mega-store opening on Carnaby Street. What’s so mega? Only a champagne and blow dry bar plus all the usual brow pampering and make-overs. Cheers to that!
