This is one of the most hyped face palettes of the year – the collaboration between model, Chrissy Teigen, and Becca. Becca are great at glow and Chrissy has a face born to wear it (she is part Norweigen and part Thai) so the two are in perfect alignment. This feels like a well thought through collaboration and not just a ‘pay-a-famous-face’ sales tactic. It’s already launched in the US – but after the initial rush, isn’t sold out. I’ll also flag up that Chrissy is 31 – only to make the point that she isn’t 17: that Becca is using an older than usual ‘face’ is another reason to like this collab.
Inside the palette, as you can see, there are four shades – Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Beach Nectar (peachy gold), Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold (pink toned gold), Sunlit Bronzer in Malibu Soleil (medium shade bronzer) and Luminous Blush in Hibiscus Bloom, a coral-red shade with gold. The whole palette is designed to bring a light hit look to the face and yes, it completely delivers on that.
Of all the shades, it’s the blush that really sings: you need the tiniest amount to get both colour and a subtle sheeny glow, but go gently at first. Hibiscus Bloom is quite a power packed shade and if you go too hard (like I did the first time!) then you will have very bright cheeks!
In the swatch, from top to bottom is Beach Nectar, Hibiscus, Rose Gold Highlighter and then Malibu Bronzer. The shades (with the exception of Hibiscus) didn’t come out as strongly as expected when swatching, but on the face was completely adequate to get that a burnished, light catchy glow. I tried it over foundation and on bare skin and all the shades did better over a base. It’s £45 HERE. (and double NK Points).
I’m still on Team Huda (posted yesterday) when it comes to glowy palettes (HERE) based purely on the texture, which is less powdery but this Becca offering will give you all the glow you want and then some. I can’t see it being a regretable purchase if that’s your remit. And, that blush!
