The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector is the kind of product I just don’t get – and yet, I know that so many other people do. I think it’s because I am not very good at application – I can’t find that middle point between nothing showing at all and tin-man face – so I am pretty sure the fault lies with me.

The application is feather-soft (it’s not really a pressed powder in the conventional sense; it is pigments in liquid binders so that you don’t get that dry powdery feel) and its remit is to soften skin (didn’t), highlight (did) and illuminate (did).

This is what it looks like swatched – I couldn’t really pick up the more subtle fluffy brush version because it didn’t look like there was anything there. There’s obviously an illuminator sweet-spot that I just can’t find!
Anyway, there are two other shades, Moonstone and Opal, and it’s available at SpaceNK for £30.
Do you have illuminator-knack?

I love the liquid version of this – considered the “powder” one as am somewhat obsessed by highlighters and illuminators, but just can’t justify another one 🙁 Nice to hear your thoughts on it!
Absolutely agree!
I too seem to be made out of metal whenever I put on powder highlighter, any brand for that matter,*. It CAN look good in photographs, but in person, especially when the sun hits it directly, let me tell you, enough to blind strangers.
Liquid, mixed with some foundation works better but none the less, it’s an art to make it look really natural. And I don’t even consider myself a make up dummy. 🙂
