Beauty Now: Stuff You Can Buy Today

Bobbi Brown Sheer Cheek Tint in Sheer Cherry
Bobbi Brown Sheer Cheek Tint in Sheer Cherry

Bearing in mind the weather, this is the perfect cheek tint for a Nordic chic look.. fresh, glowy and very, very pretty. I’ve used it, I love it. It’s £18 and also a good buy because it will segue into spring and summer very nicely indeed – gorgeous over a light tan. Find it HERE.

Guerlain Blanc de Perle Smoothing UV Base
Guerlain Blanc de Perle Smoothing UV Base

This is a pretty amazing product, helping to protect the skin from UV rays as well as strengthening the skin to help it be more resilient to UV generally. You could say it has BB qualities; hiding pigmentation marks and smoothing the skin, but the best thing is that it gives a glowy base for make up to go over.. if you’re using a radiance-enhancing foundation for example, you should get double the glow. I like double-glow. It’s not cheap at all at £43, but base enthusiasts will love it. Find it HERE.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick

The lovely Rouge Edition lipsticks from Bourjois are launching on general release in about a week, but I’ve found some on Boots.com already and also at Selfridges. They’re £7.99 a pop and worth every single penny. Smooth, creamy and acting altogether like a much more expensive product. Find them HERE.

B. Refined Exfoliating Cleanser
B. Refined Exfoliating Cleanser

B. Refined Exfoliating Cleanser has salicylic acid in it, but the exfoliating beads are quite gentle, so this one is excellent for anyone prone to break outs because while salicylic is effective for spot treatments, the beads won’t exacerbate things further. People forget that spots and breakouts can be really painful, and exfoliating a sensitive area is really not a nice experience. I think this bridges a gap, although I should add in that if your skin is very sore, you shouldn’t be exfoliating it at all. At £4.49 (intro price), I think it’s a very good buy indeed. 1. Adore the look of those Bourjois lipsticks, almost every colour looks like a yes from me!

Surprised to see you recommending a product containing microbeads –

Tricia, I don’t have all the answers. I recommended that on the basis that it is more gentle that using say crushed nut kernels, and less aggressive that peeling exfoliation. Just doing my best here…

  3. those bourjois lipsticks look AMAZING- had a look in selfridges but couldn’t find them tho- am i being blind?!

Maybe they are just on line for now.. but I would have thought they would be in the beauty section behind the main hall..the Beauty Playground I think it is called.

Bought the cheek tint a couple of days ago and LOVE it.
I also got the lipgloss in Cherry too and really like it as well – it left a bit of a stain behind once I’d chewed all the gloss off 🙂
    Pretty!
