Beauty Candy from BeautyIn

Collagen infused sweets are commonplace in Asian countries; I picked up a load in Hong Kong – very tasty, especially the peach flavoured ones! But they’re about to be a whole lot more available here when BeautyIn Beauty Candy launches next month containing collagen, vitamins and zero calories.

These were reported on last year, falling into the new ‘alimetic’ category of foods with a specific cosmetic purpose, where the general concensus was that eating sweets for beauty purposes is probably the wrong way to go about things, with parents mainly worried that it might encourage their children to think that sweets will make them pretty. At the BeautyIn level, this is a silly argument because they’re cost prohibitive for many families to have them as a regular sweet treat, and if, as an adult you tell your kids that sweets will make you pretty then you’ve really only yourself to blame.

I think we have to view these as speculative, a novelty and an interesting new chapter for beauty.

  1. These remind me of the chewy pastille style vitamins (especially the Jelly Baby ones!) I guess they’ll be a bit pricier than those, though. Packaging is lovely!

I may sound horrendously thick, but I understand vitamins are absorbed by you through food, but collagen through a sweet and then what result is this meant to produce.. where?! Confuzzled!
