Given that this brand make one of my favourite ever concealers – and the only one that doesn’t make things look worse rather than better, I’m disappointed with the Amazing Cosmetics Line Smoother + Primer.
The claims are to reduce fine lines under the eyes and give a prep base for concealer. It’s got a roller all applicator and the product feels like a ‘blur’ product. In the long term, the claims are that it will give results after 15 days with a reduction of lines. But actually, there’s a bigger claim! The key ingredient, Neodermyl is said to deliver equivalent results to one injection of collagen filler in two weeks.
However, what I’ve noticed from the get-go with the Amazing Cosmetics Line Smoother + Primer is that it makes any under eye creasing look worse, not better. And, it feels kind of greasy. Concealer didn’t really sit any better over the top of it. I also just can’t believe that it’s equivalent to filler. When I look at the claims, “Neodermyl® will reduce wrinkle depth by 15% and wrinkle volume by 13% in only 15 days with twice daily usage” and “Neodermyl® delivers equivalent results to one injection of collagen filler in just two weeks: -15% wrinkle reduction (source: American Society of Plastic Surgeons 2013)” they certainly sound impressive but I’m pretty sure that collagen filler will do more than a 15% reduction in creases. So, it’s not clear whether it’s a teeny weeny injection and I can’t help feeling there is some clever wording going on here that I can’t quite make any sense of.
In any case, the fact that it made my under eye creasing look worse on initial use doesn’t really give me any confidence. However, if you want to give it a try (and DO try the concelaer, HERE), it’s launching here in April.
