BBB L’Occitane #PreciousPetals Box

We really couldn’t have picked a better weekend to get into the mood of Provence. But, you also need to get your Korean mood on, because the BBB L’Occitane Precious Petals Box is about products within the L’Occitane family. Did you know that Erborian is part of L’Occitane? And, Melvita? While each brand is very different, they all sit under the L’Occitane brand umbrella, and it’s very rare that I don’t rave about the products from all three groups. In fact, I completely credit Erborian for making me feel excited about skin care again. If you’ve followed BBB a while, you might remember I went to the Melvita factory in The Ardeche a couple of years ago  (the post is HERE) and loved seeing the actual products being made. L’Occitane was founded in 1976, acquired Melvita in 2008 and Erborian a couple of years ago. So, it’s a diverse collection under one label, and we’ve brought them together in the BBB L’Occitane #PreciousPetals Box with a floral theme – hence the Precious Petals hashtag!

My thinking around this box is that it’s all about feeling the spring and summer in the prettiest possible way – they’re all sizes you can easily pack for a holiday or long weekend where you can put the seven products through their paces and upsize with the vouchers if you find one (or as many as you like!) that you really love. With that in mind, we’ve included a pre-paid postcard so you can send us your thoughts – there are four different pictures all depicting vintage Provencal scenes. We will ensure that our friends at L’Occitane see every single one of your comments even if you just want to say hello! This is truly an every-age box: beauty gets way too functional sometimes and we forget the pleasure of it.

So, I’ll go through each of the items.

1. L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream 30ml (£8)

I’m surrounded by Cherry Blossom at the moment, so this couldn’t be more timely: L’Occitane hand creams use a beautiful blend of shea butter so your hands are properly nourished as well as having this delicate late spring scent.

2. L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil 75ml (£7)

As if any BBB box could go without this – it’s one of L’Occitane’s best selling products for its gorgeous fragrance and skin softening properties.

3. Erborian CC Cream 15ml (£17)

When this CC cream launched from Erborian, it was an instant hit for evening out skin tone and giving a hit of hydration. If you’re wondering about the ‘petal’ part – it’s powered by a vibrant green plant called centella asiatica.

4. L’Occitane Divine Cream 8ml (£14)

Divine Cream has a fan base all of its own – nourishing, rich and full of hylauronic acid as well as precious immortelle flower.

5. Melvita Rose Floral Water 28ml (£2.50)

I’m expecting this to be a supersizing favourite – there is nothing quite like spritzing hot skin with Rose Floral Water straight from the fridge to give you a soothingly scented, instant cooler.

6. Melvita L’Or Bio 17ml (£7.50)

L’Or Bio is another of Melvita’s instant hits – scented with bergmot, lemon, orange, jasmine and fig, it’s a light feeling oil that gives a beautiful skin sheen over a slug of hydration.

7. Erborian Camellia Oil 3ml (£6)

Don’t let the dinky size fool you – a little goes a long way! I prefer to use this skin smoothing and hydrating oil over night for a softened and moisturised complexion by morning.

We also have £10 off from EACH brand with a £30 or more spend so if you want to supersize and treat yourself to something.

Finally, we’ve made the box as pretty as possible so you might like to keep it to house bits and bobs, and you’ll notice a beautiful fragrance when you open it – we’ve spritzed every single box so your discovery journey starts as soon as you take off the lid. The BBB L’Occitane Precious Petals Box is £20 including P&P. Please try to use the #preciouspetals if you’re talking to us on social media so that we don’t miss any of your questions or comments. I will be around all of Sunday to help or chat and I’m with Fiona from Latest In Beauty who will be ensuring the process goes smoothly from that end, too. You can find it HERE.

  2. Morning Jane! By coincidence I am currently in Manosque and I am going on the L’Occitane factory tour tomorrow morning!

    1. Jane

      wow… I loved it there!

  3. Tara

    Hi,
There appear to be don’t discrepancies in the sizes you have listed and the sizes on the LIB website – particularly the Erborian cream. Can you clarify. Thanks

    1. Jane

Hi Tara.. so sorry.. totally my fault: have changed in the post now and thank you for flagging this up x

  4. Such an amazing box and one of my favourite brands. Erborian continues to surprise with me their products x

  5. Claire L

  6. Farzana Mannan

Looks amazing. Thinking of getting a few as gifts…

  7. Lila

    Please make it international!

  8. Cassy

Hi, is the CC cream suitable for black skin?

    1. Jane

To be honest, I think it would be too light – I haven’t tested it on black skin so I would really hesitate to recommend.

      1. Cassy

        Ok, thank you

      2. Hi Jane & Cassy, I’ve tried the CC cream. I have what I would call medium brown skin (my foundation shades would be Bobbi Brown Golden/Warm Almond, Iman Clay 5) and it is a touch too light for me. It’s a real shame because it feels great on the skin!

  9. Looks so beautiful Jane, congrats. Seriously don’t need but do want & it’s great value… *sits on hands*

The Eborian CC creme feels and looks amazing on the skin but unfortunately turned orange on me – is there any way you can stop products oxidizing? This is the first time it’s ever happened to me and I’m gutted, it’s such a lovely product! 🙁

I’m commenting here as I haven’t had a reply to my email sent Friday 13 May. I received the box and was very happy with the contents other than the camellia essence ‘tester’ pack was empty. The bottle wasn’t in the packaging.

    1. Jane

Kim! I’m so sorry – it genuinely slipped my mind… emailing you right now!

  18. Lyn P

    Been trying my goodies, Jane

Erborian cc creme didn’t adjust to my skin, more orange than peach to my eye, took a lot of cleansing to get it off

    Trying the essence tonight

Melvita water is very nice as is l’occitane hand cream

Do like the Divine cream but not the price! One for the birthday or Christmas present hint

Giving shower oil and L’or bio to friend as don’t use either

Just ordered another box for lady as a thank you

You are much appreciated for the time you spend gathering goodies on our behalf
    xx

    1. Jane

Lyn thank you so much for the feedback – it’s really helpful for me to know what’s working for you and what’s not. I think one of the things that people like about CC is that it stays.. not so useful for the cleanse though, I can see that! You can use the shower oil as a body wash in the bath if you prefer. xx

  19. Sally

Any advice on using the Eborian CC cream? I’ve had it in two boxes from you now and its horribly chemically orange even when used just the tiniest spot at a time. I just can’t work out how to get it to magically adjust to my skin tone like the blurb says it should. I’m really disappointed with it, as its a high value part of each box I’ve had and it sounds like its meant to work for most people. I’ve got pale skin/red hair and it really seems to be geared at the fake tan generation sadly 🙁 Love everything else

    1. Jane

That really is a shame because it’s their best-seller and it’s unusal for it not to work. Have you tried lowering the concentration by mixing with a moisturiser? Give that a go – it could be that you need such a small amount of pigment on your skin that there is just way too much for you.

  20. Jenny Lilac

Jane, this box is lovely! I’m wary of trying the CC cream as I am so pale though! x

    1. Jane

Try mixing it with moisturiser.. I have had other people with very light skin saying it is too orange for them so I think you should pass unless you’re prepared to experiment xx
