I woke up at 6 a.m. this morning, a bag of nerves for setting the link to the pay point for the Beauty Box live at exactly 7 a.m. I pottered about making cups of tea and sat in front of the BBC News so I could see the exact time – and pressed go. I also tweeted the link, by-passing the site so nobody had an extra journey and sent it out to BBB subscribers on a Feedblitz email.
By 7.14am we had sold a third of the boxes! By this time, my site was unable to cope with the traffic despite the bypass link and basically stopped working. By 7.30am the site went back up, the boxes were selling at a rate of 13 per minute. At 8.15, my blog went down again. I was on my fourth coffee! It was SO stressful but ridiculously exciting at the same time. I was surprised to discover that 50% of non-UK purchasers were from Sweden – thanks Sweden!
By about 11.30, we had only 25 boxes left and they disappeared in a flurry. So, I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who bought a BBB Beauty Box – I hope you’re happy with them when they arrive in the next few days. And a big thank-you as well to all the brands who took part; it was the greatest of pleasures to be able to email and tell everyone that the box had completely sold out in a few hours. They’re all looking forward to feedback on the products – so am I.. that’s the best bit really, hearing what everyone thinks about the box and contents. So please do link me in if you are reviewing or if you have any comments at all; good or bad.
