BB Cream BB News from Superdrug, The Sanctuary and Dior

I’ve got so much to blog about at the moment I hardly know where to start but I will kick off with the Superdrug BB Cream, priced at £8.99. I managed to get a couple of their hand-mixed lab samples so I can do swatches so the packaging obviously isn’t as it will be when it launches in May. I like this one a lot; it’s very, very similar in look and texture to the Garnier BB Cream which is still my favourite of all the UK launched BBs. There is a nice dewiness to it that makes skin look really glowy and there is a good deal of moisture content so it’s great for dry skin.

Lab samples

Lighter shade at top, darker shade at bottom

I haven’t fully blended so you can see the initial colour: it blends in beautifully though.

The Sanctuary BB Cream

Again, this is a great blend that offers SPF15; it’s slightly drier in texture than the Superdrug one so for oilier skins, it may be a better option. What I like about this is the injection of Hyaluronic which is your complexion’s best friend for non-oily hydration and it has silica to absorb any excess oils. It comes in med/dark and light and the below swatch is med/dark. It launches in March for £14.99.

Dior Hydra Life BB

Just a sneaky peek at the newest Dior BB – thanks eagle-eye’d readers who alerted me to this newness. It’s aimed at 18-30, SPF30 and contains Mallow for its ability to stimulate cell renewall – as you’d expect there is a lot more focus on the skincare aspect in this one – it’s very high end and looks like it, too. It will cost £41 and launches in May.

I must look out for these. They look great. x

How exciting! – Would love to see a comparison of the Superdrug BB to Garnier xx

MUA are also launching a BB foundation, but this will be £4. Saw it today at the event. Be interesting to see the difference.

  4. The Superdrug one looks promising. I haven’t tried the Garnier BB cream, but I like No7’s BB for normal/dry skin. Loreal has one just out too don’t they? Is it called “Nude”?

  5. I’m quite excited about Superdrug’s version, although if it’s similar to Garnier’s I’ll be disapoointed – that stuff clings to dry patches like a mnother bitch! I really like the box for it too.

Also really looking forward to the MUA BB cream that they’re launching as someone else mentioned – it comes in THREE shades!!

    Steph xx

  6. The Dior one looks good 🙂

  7. Ooh, exciting. The Sanctuary one sounds like it would be perfect for my incredibly oily skin.

  8. Ooh loving the look of the Dior one! xx

Excited about the Sanctuary one! I’m glad more companies are coming out with these now, although I just tried the Estee Lauder one and found it too thick for my liking.

Just bought the Superdrug one- definitely needs moisturiser first, but is great if used sparingly. Mine was £6.99 not £8.99!
