So, it’s official. Contouring is here to stay for 2015! The Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contouring Kit is a three shade powder pan palette so if you’re nimble with a brush, you can start defining and refining.

I really like that they’ve used diagrams and words to describe what you’re supposed to do – personally, I think it’s easier to contour with a creme formula, but despite having talc as its top ingredient, the Barry M formula is soft enough to blend onto the skin beautifully.

The first shade is a standard cream colour, but the middle colour is a warm bronze shade (don’t forget I’m swatching at intensity – you’d blend it out and never wear at this strength) but a bit of a strange one in that it changes in different lights and the final colour is a deeper brown – less warm than the middle shade. Bone structure in a palette? Maybe. Those little diagrams look so simple and I feel as though I could follow them confidently – some pictures are SO complicated I can’t even begin!
The Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contouring Kit launches in February (Boots on the 4th and Superdrug on 11th) for £6.49.

I am SO glad they haven’t included a tacky brush! This seems to be aimed at younger girls and we all know that successful contouring does strongly rely on how it’s applied, so I’m glad they’re not being led astray, as it were.
So nice to see some affordable alternatives to contouring on the market, great post!

I’m def going to be giving the whole contouring thing a wide berth – for basic daytime makeup can it really look good?? I mean if you are being photographed 24/7 I’m sure you can do some fabulous things but I can only imagine what an unpracticed hand and daylight will produce!!!:)
What little contouring I do I tend to use a creme formula – but this is very blendable.. it’s the first powder formula that I’ve thought I can probably tackle.
I still think it is quite strange to find a warm shade in a contour kit
Oooo this looks fab! Might give Sleek a run for it’s money as a drugstore contour kit!

I’ve never quite gotten my head around the idea of contouring. This looks like a good way to dip my toes (or cheeks, for that matter) into the concept.
This looks like a nice little palette! I love my Benefit Hoola Bronzer too much though! X

Are there different shades of this or is it just the one? Thanks in advance if you’re able to answer! xx
