I don’t very often feature mineral make up on this blog – I just can’t get around their powdery nature and their inclincation to drop. However, I adore these shades from bareMinerals in Frost (silver), Glisten (gold) and the khaki shade came without a label. They use a sponge applicator as an integral part of the tube, and the mineral pigments have been boosted with metallic pearl. The pigments are really high – the colour is dense and therefore impactful, but there was drop even as I was testing on my arm (see, I told myself so!) and although they are billed as non-fade or smudge, I would say they are inclined to smudge slightly – it’s quite hard to get an application that doesn’t require any blending and the colour obviously shifts if you attempt to blend. If someone could get mineral make up to not scatter millions of micro-particles everywhere I would be extatic and wear it a lot more often. As it is, I think the beautiful colours – particularly the green – are probably worth the rigmarole of having to do eyes first, pick up the drop, then apply everything else. They’re £14 each and I suspect would last nearly for ever.
