These Bare Minerals 5-in-1 BB Eyeshadows have become something of an instant obsession. While I’m not taking too much notice of the BB element, it’s fair to say that they do have SPF15, they do have ingredients you would associate with skin care, they do brighten the eye area and they absolutely do smooth it out. Quite amazingly, actually.
So, while they look a little thick and gunky in the swatch – I’ve done that for colour reference – they blend out to muted shades that can be worn alone or as a tinted primer or base for other colours. The reason that they’re able to actually smooth the lid is thanks to an amino acid ccomplex – I have to flag that I could feel it working, and in much the same way that you might feel a tingle with a lip plumper, I got a tiny tingle that disappeared after about ten minutes. Alth0ugh there is a doe’s foot applicator, I transfered the scoop to a brush – you only need a tiny amount – and I think it’s a more accurate and reliable application method than the doe’s foot which can deliver a little too much.
The shades in the swatch, from bottom to top are: Blushing Pink, Soft Shell, Delicate Moss (my favourite), Elegant Taupe and Barely Nude, but there are ten shades to pick from.
