You know when you get something that you know you’ll wear forever? Yep, that. While Avon isn’t a brand I use very much, I do love their Supershock Gel Liners. They’re so smooth to apply, the pigment is always good and there is something for everyone shade-wise. So, when I was sent Golden Fawn, launching in February, a new shade for Spring, my immediate impression was that it is a near-perfect dupe for another favourite liner, Chanel Long Lasting Eyeliner in Rose Satine. It’s the same kind of dirty, antiqued pastel with a metallic finish that makes eyes pop because it brings light to the rims, but while they are pretty close in colour, it isn’t an exact match. Chanel Rose Platine is a little lighter with, as the name suggests, the barest undertone of pink, while Golden Fawn has no pink tinge. As you can see from the pictures though, in the light, they are quite similar, although the colours indicated on the pencils show them to be less similar than they really are. So, Avon is a good option if you’re looking for a ‘nearly’ shade of Rose Satine.

Oh wow that is really nice. I always forget about Avon as we don’t have anyone bringing the catalogues round anymore. Must remember!
I love Avon’s Supershock Gel liners! One of my favourite budget beauty buys!
Ooh this will be mine! I have the black one and love it lots 🙂
Gorgeous – I will be buying this, no question about it. I have a bunch of these liners, and also love them. They are so smooth, last really well, and actually have a nice variety of colors to choose from. Beautiful color!
Gorgeous.. I cant wait for this to launch! xx
Thank you so much for this comparison, I love that Chanel eyeliner so I’ll be sure to buy the Avon one! It’d be smart if you correct the name of the Chanel eyeliner, it’s Rose PLatine, so that people searching for similar colors (which I’m sure is common) would be directed to your blog in a google search. 🙂
