[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I properly sneezed my way around St James park on a walk with my son last week – the tree pollen was off the scale so it’s little wonder that my skin is itchy and patchy as well. Funnily enough, I have had Avene XeraCalm AD Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil waiting to be tested for a while but since I had nothing really to deal with, I was a bit stuck. It’s a lipid replenishing oil that’s great for dry skin in general but also for people like me who have occasional causes. I know that skin itching can be a menopausal symptom so if that’s you, this might be worth a shot although I haven’t tested for that – despite a regularly itchy neck and chest it’s all calm as we speak and my itchiness is on my arms. The other thing I’ve been using on my arms is REN Barrier Support Elixir but I have sponsored content coming up on that which will explain it more fully so I’ll stay focussed on XeraCalm for now.

Avene XeraCalm AD Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil

The oil is soap free and pH balanced so it’s not going to upset your barrier. It contains a post-biotic active called I-modulia which reduces the sensation of itching – it’s not particularly long-lasting but it does seem to be very soothing at the time. Itchy bits tend to get dry quickly – the lipid-like omegas are helpful for that but overall it’s one part of an anti-itch process I think that would include plenty of moisturiser too. Obviously, if you think you have something more than just a temporary issue, you should see your doctor although I realise that is probably more difficult than trying to deal with it yourself. You can use Avene XeraCalm AD Lipid Replenishing Cleansing Oil on your face as well as your body – I liked it on my face and I liked the suppleness that it left on both face and body. Lucy uses a lot of Avene so it’s a trusted brand for us. You can find it on offer HERE for £12.37 (25% off) and the non-affiliate is HERE.
