Anyone who loves natural skincare will be excited about the launch of Aurelia Probiotic Skincare. With a probiotic element, the formulations of this range are a blend of peptide technologies and BioOrganic botanicals. The whole range is free from synthetic fragrance, parabens, mineral oil, silicones, sulphates, propylene glycol, pthalates, CMOs, PEGs, TEA and DEA, making it absolutely ideal for anyone looking to really clean up their skincare act.
I’ve met Claire Vero, founder and formulator; she’s an absolute poster girl for healthy, radiant skin and that, to my mind, is the most telling thing about any range – what the person using it looks like. She’s annoyingly glowy, even make-up free, damn it!
Aurelia Skincare Miracle CleanserIt’s definitely worth researching more on this range, whether you like your skincare natural or not. I think the two star products (I’ve been testing here and there) are the Miracle Cleanser, £26, and the Revitalize and Glow Serum, £47. First up, Miracle Cleanser is a cross between a wash-off balm and a wash-off lotion; consistency wise this is the only way I can describe it. And, it instantly reminded me of Eve Lom’s famous cleanser in the way it smelled (Eucalyptus). The cleanser comes with an organic bamboo antibacterial cloth but personally, I prefer to use a thin flannel.
The Serum is one of those that you put on your skin and it instantly feels compatible and comfortable; almost as though it is meant to be there. It’s got just about everything that skin loves, including Omega 3, 6 and 9 and Vitamin E, plus ingredient of the moment, Baobab.

How does Probiotic skincare work?
I thought Probiotic meant that there are lots of beneficial bacteria in a product, like in Yakult or yoghurt.
Do Probiotic skincare products contain lots of bacteria? If so, why aren’t they killed off by the preservative system?
Hello and thanks for your question!
Aurelia Probiotic technology has been developed by a leading biotech and uses immune modulatory glycoproteins from bifidobacteria to generate targeted responses in the skin. Probiotic nutrients are used to ferment specific actives to enhance the way they work within the skin, the probiotic element is not used in its ‘live’ form. This active then works to rebalance the stress level in the skin by helping to moderate our inflammatory response that is often triggered by environmental aggressors (sun, pollution etc.). If you have any further questions please take a look at our general Q&A on http://www.aureliaskincare.com and also a more detailed scientific based Q&A under ‘The Science’ which explains this in detail!
Thank you
