I’m a lot obsessed with navy blue liners – so maybe unsurprisingly the thing I like best about the Aerin a/w 2013 collection is the midnight liner. It’s got plenty of black in the backdrop so it really does that dark, dark eye ‘thing’.

The two lipsticks are moist and dewy on the finish; the shades are ‘neutral +’ I think you could say – safe but a bit more adventurous than standard nudes, in shades Mercer (first) and Madison (second). To my mind the palette is a pared back version of the Bobbi Brown Navy & Nude.
The strength of Aerin is presentation and I always think of it as make-up for people who don’t like make-up. They’re safe, well edited and very sophisticated – you’d be hard pushed to go wrong here – like, clown face just couldn’t happen. There are some glosses to come which I’ll swatch when I get them.
The collection launches in August. Lipsticks cost £24, the palette is £45 and the Liner (Skyline) is £22.50.
