I think the next big thing that will be everywhere is the Aerin Rose Balm; watch it become the backstage essential of absolutely everyone. It’s formulated with extracts from over 350 rose petals (is that a lot? I’m trying to imagine them all mushed down) and it also forms the base for the new Aerin Essentials Spring Rose Balm Lipsticks. I’ve highlighted the shade Wild Lilac because it’s divine – and it’s stronger than the usual Aerin ‘safe zone’. There are ten new shades heading our way towards the end of this month (26th I think) but in my view Wild Lilac is the must-have.

Here’s a pic of *that* balm… use it anywhere that’s dry – lips, cuticles, elbows .. and use it sparingly – it’s £40 a pot!

And, here’s the full line up .. pretty, hey? And a last minute swatch of Wild Lilac.

There’s nothing shy about this shade! It’s a full-on vampy wine stain – actually, I would mix it with a clear balm I think to get a gentler violet but if you love the depth and intensity of this shade, then literally one slick is all you need.

Is that a lot of rose petals she asks…lol! It takes around 10,000 lbs of the flower to make just one pound of rose oil. One of the reasons its so expensive to buy. 10 ml of rose absolute is currently around £40. Must be some lipstick!
