Oushka Backpack

For a while now I’ve been eyeing up backpacks – the kind that don’t make me look like I’m carrying my pencil case to school. I’m starting to get Honey out and about a bit more since Coco died because leaving her on her own for several hours just isn’t an option and it’s thrown up a dilemma. You cannot – well, I cannot – carry a small dog and a large handbag. I’ve got a little dog bag for her which she absolutely hates (but it acts as a nice little bed for her to have as ‘home’ if we are out and about) and insists on sitting bolt upright in it which means I can’t zip her in! Argh! So until now I’ve been stuffing my pockets with what I need and just carrying her in the bag – which requires two hands because she doesn’t lie down. My shoulders don’t know what’s happening! So a backpack seems like the ideal solution for me to be hands-free and cart all the essentials (twelve glosses, hairbrush, emergency blush etc).

I stumbled across the Oushka website, and finally found exactly what I want! The Lola bag is the right side of slouchy – it comes in brown, black and the colour I’ve highlighted which is called Silver Mink. It’s exactly the colour I want going into spring although the brown is rather tempting too. I’m just thinking that while my reason for needing a backpack bag is rather unusual, there are plenty of mums who need hands free, and even more women whose shoulders could probably do with a break.
