Because I’ve got *insert embarrassing number here* pairs of Fitflops and no sign of slowing down on my addiction, I thought I’d flag up the sale. I can still remember the launch event from Fitflop in 2007 and being just instantly smitten with them. I have only just thrown away my original two pairs because I’ve worn the sole away and they’re a bit skiddy now – but did so with a heavy heart! Originally, I was very impressed with the toning ability which was the big message about them back then but nowadays it’s all about comfort and style for me.
I can happily walk on London pavements for hours in these – or equally through the park and have often been stopped to ask where my shoes are from. They’ve got a cushioned heel strike, high pressure area dispersal and shock absorption, so they are actually properly built for walking in, no matter how pretty they look. As far as toning goes, I’m pretty convinced that my calves and the backs of my legs benefit from this although my bottom woefully not so much! I just noticed that the Fitflop site carries a warning to wear them progressively to avoid muscle soreness – I’m in them so much, I forgot that could be a thing but I don’t remember feeling sore. I know that one friend had a rubbing issue with the toe posts but I slip into a new pair as easily as if I’d had them for years and always have.
My biggest Fitflop regret is that they discontinued Mukluk Talls for winter – I still miss them – but the style shown in the main pic is Carmel Rose Gold (HERE) but there are lots of metallics which is a good way to do the metal trend and not kill your feet.
The irony of this post is that I’m looking out into the rain and billowing wind with my feet very snugly in socks and boots but summer WILL come! I suspect the awful weather is the reason that there are so many styles in the sale (a lot half price so think £45 mark instead of £80 0r £90). The landing page is HERE if you want to browse, but the Opuls are HERE, the Golds are HERE and the rose gold Carmels in the main pics are HERE.
