Now then..this is a good idea! You might not realise that tights manufacturers use a similar colour process to the cosmetic industry to get tights that are right for international skin colours – and some do it better than others. I’m a FALKE fan through and through, although sometimes nearly cry at the prices – eek. The new Perfect Skin Colours use a similar method to how foundations are made – taking the four most prevalent international shades and building from that. The result is that you get tights that are as near to a perfect skin tone match; the aim is for an airbrushed leg look.
I also had never really realised that the swatches in store in tights departments are for you to match to your tone – I just thought they hung there so we could see the colours properly. Perfect Skin Colours Tights range from very pale skin to dark brown (Crystal, Golden, Cocoon, Powder, Brasil, Noisette, Sun or Coffee) and if you buy your first pair in store, you get a card with your nearest match so any future purchases on line will be mistake proof.
It’s years since I’ve worn anything other than black tights, to be honest. I’ve always been a bit scared of American Tan type errors, but I’m starting to think that maybe I could wear these.

I’ve been considering getting a pair of these as pretend bare legs for Summer evening outfits!

ooooohhhh do you happen to know where a Falke stockist is?
I’d like to know this too please!
As someone who has had many surgeries during my life, over the last 26 years (from Day 1 post birth!) my legs are covered in scars, both old and new. As much as I embrace my scars, as they have allowed me to walk, these tights sound like a perfect solution to my ‘legs out’ worries.
I expect I shall buy some, no matter what price, to see if they are any good.
Thanks, Kate x
I’m not sure that they’d necessarily hide scars unless you got the higher denier.. definitely don’t buy the very sheer ones x
I don’t know the last time I wore these type of tights either, but actually seems like a good idea. Usually there’s just generic tan and a deeper brown and that’s pretty much it
You can buy all these at online retailer – My Tights (www.mytights.com) – which is brilliant…it sells every kind of hosiery imaginable.
Sorry – realised I posted that in the wrong place…sorry!!!!
