NARS Contour Blush

NARS Contour Blush
NARS Contour Blush

I’ve been waiting to post on NARS Contour Blush for what seems like ever, but I’ve finally got a couple of samples through now so can show you. I think the whole contouring revival is down to the YouTubers and their amazing beauty tutorials which means that what was the preserve of make up artists (because there is definitely an art to contouring) is now available to everyone if you know what to do. Wayne Goss has a spectacular video HERE but it is Kardashian inspired so you’re warned!

NARS Contour Blush comes in three shades – Olympia in ivory and rose, Paloma in pink beige and deep rose and Gienah in honey and amber. I must stay that Paloma (on the left) doesn’t look rose toned to me; it’s more tan and Gienah is really quite dark. Instructions for NARS Contour Blush are simple: apply the deeper shade to the hollows of the cheeks and the hairline, and sweep the light shade across the cheekbone toward the temple to soften and highlight. I am SURE it ain’t that easy!

I am not a contourer – I have never contoured in my whole life, but it looks like I’m going to have to give it a go.

NARS Contour Blush launches on 1st April on a Selfridges exclusive and then nationwide from 15th April for £30 each.

How warm is the fairest shade please jane? I have very pale skin and find most bronzers and contour kits far too warm and unnatural looking on me.

    1. Jane

I would say if you are very fair, it’s too warm x

I consulted with Nordstrom’s Beauty Consultants & they said Paloma would suit NC20. Perhaps Olympia is a lighter option or that you can get away with using Paloma? HTH.

  2. definitely looking forward to this

  3. Ooooh – I’m a contouring addict…..but I’m total beginner. I seem to get it right some days and not others 🙂 I’ll have to go try this palette out….I find the hardest thing is finding a good highlighter that’s not too shiny. The NARS one looks great.

This looks really good. Do you know if it’s glittery or not. I’m not a big fan of glittery bits in bronzers.

Also, I hope you girls don’t mind but i’m a final year student doing a dissertation on celebrity endorsements and cosmetics and would really appreciate it if you could complete this survey for me. It will only take a few minutes xxx

    1. I did do your questionnaire Miss M, but I think I’m too old…..it asked me if I was over 29 (I am) and it kindly said goodbye….haha!

Btw….I’m a MMU MSc part-time student, I’m just completing my dissertation. Good luck with yours! x

Thank you so much for trying anyway, no worries! It’s nice to see a reply from a fellow MMU student. Best of luck for the rest of your MSc Degree!!!!! xxx

  10. No swatches again?

    1. Jane

Do you mean, please could you provide some swatches? If that’s the case, I’d be glad to, on Sunday x

      1. No, I was stating that there where no swatches again, had you stated swatches to follow I wouldn’t have replied. Don’t lets start believing your own hype and getting narky with followers, I wasn’t rude just questioned why there are no swatches as it makes little sense to review a product that appears to not have been used just shown in pan. Regards

        1. Jane

The swatches are coming up on Monday – I have two only to swatch; the medium and the dark. The purpose of that post was to give a head’s up that the Contour Blushes are new products coming from NARS: sometimes, depending on time, the swatches come later.

These look beautiful, definitely want to try them!
