I think this is Lancome’s strongest collection for a long time – loving the whimsical eye liner patches above! Inspiration is a snowy, winter scene and I think it’s quite close to that with white, grey and shimmer strong colours… I like a literal translation of inspiration so my eyebrows don’t raise over the top of my head ;-).
These are great quality and the blackest black you can get. I haven’t put them to practical use yet so I can’t say how their longevity is, but they are supposed to be re-usable. The set is £28.
Next up the Lancome Highlighter Rose Etincelle, my least favourite item.. it’s like 1980’s highlighter – a million times too frosty and if you’re not extremely sparing with it, you can end up with tin-man skin. It’s £35.
These Lancome Ultra Dazzling Colours are my favourite items from the collection – they’re such beautiful quality and the consistency is exactly like the Chanel spongy shadows.
The packaging is very cool, as well.
I love that they have proper little brushes, rather than sponge applicators – and a sleeve over each brush to keep it tidy – this is attention to detail well worth paying for. The Lancome Hypnose Ultra Dazzling Colours are £21 each.
The colours totally glide over the skin – they’re so easy to work with and if you’re after a really frost-princess look, Diamant Argente (silver) is perfection. Shades from bottom to top are: Diamant Argente, Emeraude Eternelle, Quartz Taupe (my favourite) and Saphir Noir, a deep shimmer-shot grey.
Now the bling! Lancome Hypnose Star Etincelle Mascara (£22) and Lancome L’Absolu Rouge (£25). The mascara is a shimmery silver – totally smooth and everything Christmas, while the lipstick is coated with Swarovski Elements in what I think we’d best know as ‘caviar’. I’m not convinced.. it looks a little clunky to me.
Can’t knock this colour though! A vibrant, orange based red in Rouge Etincelle (there is one other shade, Caprice). The formula is super-creamy and a dream to apply.
Finally, one of the two nail colours for the Christmas season; Etincelle de Neige is a matte shimmer if you can imagine.. when wet (or top-coated) it is literally brilliant shimmer – so twinkly, however, the matte formula still gives plenty of twinkle, just not off the scale as it does when wet. I will swatch this when I get the chance. The other shade, Etincelle d’Argent is a dark silver-black. The polish is £12.50.
Everything launches nationwide in November.
