Ultimate Hyaluronic – Elizabeth Arden Hyaluronic Acid Ceramide Capsules Hydra-Plumping Serum #AD

I’d be prepared to put money down to bet that you won’t have experienced a skin care texture like this before. I know that words like ‘velvet’ and ‘silk’ are easily used in beauty writing but the brand new capsules from Elizabeth Arden are more representative of those descriptions than anything I’ve tried before.

Elizabeth Arden Hyaluronic Acid Ceramide Capsules Hydra-Plumping Serum

As the name suggests, they’re all about hyaluronic – everyone’s favourite skin care ingredient. A quick recap on hyaluronic – it’s a polysaccharide that is the main component of the base of the dermis and its chief job is to retain moisture to keep everything – from skin to connective tissues – moist. Not all hyaluronic is equal – some formulas can be tacky and runny and, believe it or not, it can make your skin feel drier (especially in humidity) if it’s not locked into your complexion by a supporting ingredient.

The Hyaluronic Acid Ceramide Capsules Hydra-Plumping Serum are different from other forms of HA in that they’re meticulously formulated to ensure the best performance of both hyaluronic and ceramides, a skin care combination that’s a match made in heaven. Using this specific combination means that the hyaluronic does its work in attracting moisture while ceramides lock it in so it doesn’t escape again. Encapsulation (biodegradable capsules by the way – just chuck them in recycling or food waste bin) keeps the ingredients fresh and therefore optimally potent.

The key benefits from the Hyaluronic Acid Capsules are plumping, intense hydration and skin firming. Elizabeth Arden uses a Double Lock Hydration technology which refers to the aforementioned loading up and locking in of moisture. The form of hyaluronic that’s used is very small (500 time smaller than traditional hyaluronic) to give more effective hydration. But, I don’t want hyaluronic to get all of the glory – ceramides, which are essential fats that skin needs to keep moist and the barrier strong and protected, are very much a key player in the capsules which also have a dash of ginger extract and oils. Because ceramides are skin-identical (i.e. mimicking a natural composition) they’re suitable for everyone.

You can use your capsules day or night – I’ve tried both and like them equally, not least for the silken, dewy glow that makes my skin look really fresh and ready for the day. I find the capsules generous so for a change, my neck and chest are getting the smoothing and bouncy five star treatment too. It’s really like liquid velvet on application – the kind of texture that keeps you massaging and massaging, which of course is excellent for your skin and gets the blood flowing nicely. You can use the Hyaluronic Acid Capsules with any other capsules from the range, such as Vitamin C or Retinol.

Elizabeth Arden herself is quoted as saying ‘repetition makes reputation’ and the brand’s continued understanding and development of ceramide technology is true to those very words. You will receive two complimentary seven day samples with any purchase of any of Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules (60 pieces) using code BRITBEAUTY. I love their Retinol and Vitamin C capsules, they ate so good, and generous. So I trust I’m going to add these to my routine 🙂

They are generous – I’m sure it’s possible to eke them out for longer than suggested!

Fabulous, I’ve loved EA capsules for years. I used to use the herbal (green?) ones and they gave lovely skin. And special mention for their White Tea scent which is quite green, fresh and not cloying at all.

I think you will love these Chrissie – the texture is so beautiful. Plus, finally (everything crossed) going on a break on Thursday so taking a few with me to cut down on space in that tiny bag of things that you’re allowed – half of which is now taken up with sanitiser so I have to really pare back.

Thanks Jane, I’m having bit of a stressful time with my terminally ill mother, bless her. Both our skins deserve a treat. Have a lovely break too, pared down beauty allowance included xx

Oh, so sorry to hear it – I wonder if she’d (and you) like the Liquid Yoga Space Spray? You can use on skin or pillows – ever so nice. The caps are so lovely in texture that it does feel like an absolute treat on the complexion – use the extra on tops of hands. x

Thank you Jane. I might give the Liquid Yoga a try, sounds lovely. I won’t comment about my almost crocodilian hands at the moment. I know hand hygiene is super important etc.. 🙂 but the after effects aren’t too pretty x

Keep on with hand cream – it’s the only way 🙂 x

Thank you for this post. I will check it out. I used EA capsules many years ago.

Thank you so much for the insightful review – this has persuaded me to try them!
