Origins Mask Pods

Opinion is divided on whether multi-masking (using more than one mask to target different areas on your face) is a thing or not, but I’ve certainly done it without even knowing it might be a thing! Most commonly, I’ll use a detox or ‘drawing’ mask across my nose and then a hydrating mask elsewhere on my face – I couldn’t see myself using more than two at a time, but I know that some people do. So, if you’ve fancied trying multi-masking, Origins have made it very simple with their little mask pods – you can buy 6 for £12 I believe.

I first wrote about the Origins Mask Pods last year when they’d newly launched, but thought it was worth a re-visit because at that time they came in a set. Now you can get them as singles (in stores.. they don’t seem to be on-line yet) you can spot target whatever your concerns are – or, obviously, use them as single shots before you buy the full size. NB: The pods are available in the Mortimer Street Store and Selfridges (both London) but will be going on line. I’ll flag it up when they do.

I’ve also discovered Origins VitaZing and I have no idea how I missed it when it first launched. If you’re thinking that the formula looks a bit, well, grey, you’re right. However, it’s a self adjust colour formula that gives the most gorgeous, warm looking glow.

I haven’t fully rubbed the swatch in so you can see how the colour emerges, but once across the whole face, it’s a bit of a revelation in hydrating sheer coverage that gives skin a dewy look. It’s also SPF15, and apparently the most popular product for people making their first Origins purchase. I’m immediately a fan of this for low make-up days. It’s £29 HERE.

I like the pods idea, Sephora do something similar for their own brand skin care. I tried Origins VitaZing but found the fragrance too strong & it was drying on my skin so I ended up passing it on……

  2. Multi masking,… thats genius… I often shy away from face masks exactly because what I need for my chin (spotty) is different to what I need for my nose (bone dry) and they are both different from the rest of my face (totally normal), products for spotty skin are usually too drying for the rest of my face, and products for dry skins usually break me out… using multiple products makes perfect (but expensive?!) sense!

Hi Jane. For somebody like me who is always planning to do a regular mask but never do unless I am at a hotel where I really love to do the whole pamper routine so I love the idea of these single shot masks, but…when I asked about them at an Origins counter yesterday and the assistant told me point blank that they were not available and were a Christmas item only??! At the time she was desperately trying to convince me I needed their new Maskimiser (spelling?!) so it did seem a perfect time also be promoting these pods…? Are they limited to the festive period?

No they aren’t! I was in the Mortimer Street store and they had jars and jars of them. Let me find out a bit more..

This is actually a great idea. I didn’t think to do it before I didn’t know if the two masks would be too much for my face or cause a bad reaction.

If you use like I’ve used in the past.. a detox over the nose and hydration elsewhere it should be fine but if your skin is senstitive or difficult stick with what you know works for you!

I really would like to try just a single one in different types of mask to see which work for me before forking out for the full size. I’m planning a trip to Westfield Stratford so hopefully they will have them there.

  6. I love Origins they make great cleansers, just got a sample of one of their masks and fell in love. I might just have to see if my Sephora got these little pods, they are so cute !! Such a great post !!

I have a feeling that you have to buy 6.
