[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m not particularly a fixing spray user – in fact, the only time I crack out a fix is if I know my make-up needs to last the entire day. It wouldn’t occur to me to use it as standard. Anyway, as previously discussed, I am really having to work back into wearing coverage of any sort because I’m quite happy without.
This colourful collection comes with a twist – mood boosting fragrance. I have to say that the ‘perfume’ aspect is very light and you can use it as a skin refresher whether you’re wearing make up or not. They all contain cucumber, green tea and chamomile and give a light film that dries matte (more or less) to hold your base. I know that for many, fragrance on the face is an absolute no-no, and while I’ve seen them described as ‘not alcohol based’ they do contain butylene glycol which is a type of alcohol that’s largely considered safe in skin care.
The fragrances sound more complex than they actually are – if you read the blurb they sound multi-layered and complex which I really don’t find – so for example, Fix+Balance is Italian bergamot, orange, mint, green tea leaves, rose, iris, blonde woods and musk whereas I got a kind of green tea meets fruit impression. In a million years, I would not know iris, blond wood or musk had been anywhere near it. But, it’s nice – a fresh and soothing scent that’s perfectly pleasant to be surrounded in. Last is non-existent really – it’s more just a mood of the moment thing so shouldn’t be mistaken for having the characteristics of a fragrance.
I like Calm (bilberry and jasmine), Play (lemon and orange) and Vitality (apricot, tangerine) best and if you like a fixer spray or a light mattifier, AND don’t mind mild fragrance on your face, these are fun – I really like them for being playful, colourful and tapping into a good summery mood which we are short on right now. At £12.50 each, they’re affordable treats that bring something to your day. Find the Vibes HERE, non affiliate HERE. I’ve linked to Look Fantastic because the MAC site is being glitchy – there’s a 10% off offer but I haven’t taken it to checkout to see how accurate the code is.
