L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Care

My eyes instantly alighted on the Micellar Gel from the new L’Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Care range. I’ve seen micellar gels before but very rarely, and I love anything that’s a little bit different. A micellar gel works in a simlar way to micellar water (tiny ‘micelles’ or oil droplets merged inside the liquid to remove makeup) but a gel format means a smoother ride. I love micellar waters but it is the case sometimes that the ‘water’ effect can be drying, so there is less of that with the gel formula. I think it’s a nice product for anyone who likes to experience different textures – it’s cleansing ability is perfectly good, but there are many great cleansers around at the moment, so I’d flag it more for the experience.

The other product I like is the 2 in 1 Perfecting Scrub (£19). Once you apply it to your skin, it turns into an oil, so it actually feels more like an exfoliating oil. Although I found the exfoliating action to be light, despite tiny granules, this will suit those who don’t like or can’t tolerate a scrubby scrub. The toner (£15) – I can’t summon up a feeling one way or another on this! I didn’t think toners really existed any more, having been replaced by softening waters. L’Occitane suggest that Peony is very rich in plant sugars, which in turn targets cell irregularities. I’m not sure how much of this action you’d see in a cleansing routine, but if you love a cleanse, the light scent and ‘experience’ is beautiful. The range is launching literally any day now (the products are already listed on the site but as ‘out of stock’ so it’s just a question of stock being ready) HERE.

Do you know what the exfoliating granules are made of? I refuse to buy products containing microplastics, but I can’t see any detail on what l’occitane uses.

I will check but it’s highly unlikely to be micro plastics – I’m not sure brands are even allowed to use them any more x
