L’Occitane Aqua Réotier Skin Care

L’Occitane Aqua Réotier Skin Care

I wish L’Occitane had chosen a thermal spa from which to take their skin-loving water that tripped off the British tongue a little more readily that Réotier! Ray-ot-e-ay. I don’t know. Only just grasped Avene to be honest. But, never mind, that’s a tiny blot on an otherwise spectacular landscape. I love these oil-water-gel textures – they’re just 100% right for me with loads of slip and flexibility that make skin feel instantly smoother.

So, the Réotier spring is found in Provence, home of L’Occitane, in the mountainous Hautes-Alpes region. The water forms a key part of this new skin care range being apparently 10 times richer in calcium than other French thermal waters which is helpful for moisture and the skin barrier. If you’re wondering about the ecology footprint of mining the mineral water, it accounts for 0.04% of the spring’s annual water production.

I have to admit that I love a bubbly gel – they’re so pretty and yes, I’m being shallow… but they are. Personally, I don’t think in a million years the actual bubbles can do anything whatsoever for your skin, but they look so clean and fresh that I don’t even care. So, any talk of bubbles ‘reviving’ skin is more hope than reality. What will is a cooling gel formula (perfect to keep in the fridge for summer or for skin that gets hot) with a hit of hyaluronic.

Easily my favourite products so far are the Ultra Thirst Quenching Gel (£28), the Water Gel Cleanser (£19) and the non-bubbly Ultra Thirst Quenching Cream (£28). I also love the Moisture Prep Essence (bubbly, £22) but I feel, much like the Moisturizing Mist (£19) that it’s less of an essential. If I was trying this range for the first time – and it’s suitable for normal/combination skin and normal/dry depending upon which you pick, I’d get the Water Gel Cleanser and the Ultra Thirst Quenching Cream as an opener. If you need a less heavy moisturiser, then I’d have the Ultra Thirst Quenching Gel. They’re absolutely lovely but so new that the only product that has launched on line is the latter – HERE.

  1. I totally agree about the bubbly gel, it’s so much prettier than a ‘plain’ formula!

Unrelated, but how on EARTH did you get all those bubbles in the photos?!

in Hobbycraft, I found some ‘unburstable’ bubbles … so .. just blew them around and then spent about an hour cleaning gloop off everything!!

      1. Amazing, thank you! I’m tempted to get some to play with but not sure I like the sound of that goop…

  2. The packaging is beautiful. I am definitely trying the range out.

  3. Oh wow this range has really taken my fancy to try out! Not only do the products sound amazing but they look so aesthetically pleasing too. 😛

I’ll definitely give these a go if they come out with some travel minis. 😛
