If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to put your whole face in a giant orange (don’t tell me you have never wondered!), then I think that the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Face Mask is as close as you’ll get! The scent on this is all of the freshly squeezed, juicy oranges and an absolute joy from the moment you open the jar.

Fresh are brilliant at masks, so it won’t be a great surprise to know that this fits right in with the standard I’d expect from this brand (and also for the price – £52). It’s a morning mask, of that I’m sure, because when I tried it my skin was noticably brighter so there is no point in sleeping all over a glow and my make up went on so smoothly with no added moisturiser. One of the things that Fresh does with their masks is indicate long term effects, but to be honest, I like masks for right now – for what they can do immediately, and I’m not all that interested in what might happen over a month or two of use. One of the great pleasures of a mask is to do something over and above what your skin care does, and Fresh Vitamin Nectar Face Mask hits the spot on that one, and I am sure that over a period of time, the results will increase, but it’s never quite as exciting as that instant ten minute skin perk.

So, the reason that this smells so incredibly citrussy is that the ingredients are 50% crushed oranges, lemons and clemantines, blended into a fruit paste that is naturally packed with AHAs (hence the instance brightening). It’s also got a blend of Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Vitamin B5, along with a mineral complex of magnesium, copper and zinc. Just in case you are tempted to taste it, the latter ingredients should put you right off! Nice on skin, not nice on tongue. Fresh Vitamin Nectar Face Mask has all the look and feel of something that should be on your breakfast table, not on your face, but when you do put it on your face, it has a gentle scrub action and you need to blend it around with your fingers until it goes a little bit tacky and smooth. Then leave the AHAs to do their perking.

I completely love this product – it’s priced for a ‘treat’ I think, rather than every day, but there is such a strong sensorial element and such a good finished effect, it’s a treat worth having. It’s listed on the Fresh website (HERE) as coming soon.. I’ll flag up when it does arrive.

How many applications do you think you would get from this jar Jane? Sometimes products that seem very expensive really aren’t when you work out how much reliable usage you’ll get from them…not to mention all the money one can waste trying to find a cheaper duplicate for something you know you love, my stash is an embarrassing testament to that particular folly 😛
Thanks, as always, for the best beauty blog around, Jo x

ah thank you so much! It’s hard to say exactly – I’m a believer in a thin layer, not smothering the skin so I would expect to get at least 15 goes from this.
