Erborian Spray-To-Mask

Erborian Spray-To-Mask

Ooh, okay so this is fun! It’s probably something you want to reserve for bath time or at least when you’ve got your hair tied up or pre-shower because it is exactly as described; a spray that turns into a mask. I tried it as soon as it arrived!

When you spray, it feels quite misty but actually forms a light almost-gel on the face so doesn’t slide off. However, don’t spray too much – you actually don’t need a lot and if you really put too much on you can expect it to drip.  It feels quite active on the skin – as well as cooling and freshening – and it left my complexion feeling really soft and in terms of radiance and a ‘brighter’ appearance, yes, those boxes ticked as well. I think you could liken the results to a flash mask – wakening, smoothing and perking. My foundation went on like a dream afterwards.

The actives in the spray mask are Ginseng, Liquorice and Horsetail but it’s very far from being a natural product so I’d advise that if you have very sensitive skin, don’t buy it because of the ‘zing’ it leaves on the skin. However, going through the ingredient list, I can see what is responsible for what – propanediol gives the smooth finish, methyl gluceth for moisturising (humectant) and so on – if you can tolerate most things on your skin, including alcohol, it gives impressive results.

I’ve never seen a face mask yet that doesn’t stipulate ‘avoid eye area’ so how do you get around that?! Is there something in or not in this one that makes it different?

I think if you know your own skin well enough, you’ll know whether you can tolerate this – the skin under the eye being different somehow is a bit of myth in my view – it’s the same skin a the rest of your face. I expect that most say avoid eye area so you don’t actually get it in your eyes so I guess with this you squeeze tight and hope for the best!
