Dermalogica Retinol Clearing Oil

[unpaid/sample/ad] This is really just a head’s up to let you know of an interesting new launch from Dermalogica.

Dermalogica Retinol Clearing Oil

I don’t get break-outs (although definitely got a couple of Covid stress spots which have long gone) so this product isn’t for me but one of the things I really like about it is that it addresses break-outs in older women. We’re endlessly targeted for lines and wrinkles (and, urgh, ‘sagging’, ‘crows feet’, ‘turkey neck’ etc, etc, yawn) and there is an element of that in the marketing of this, but products that really get to work on blemishes for our age group are few and far between. I think Dermalogica’s theory is that if you’re using an overnight gel for one thing, it might as well address other things too.

Apparently, this formula is a first of its kind combining retinol and salicylic acid together. The retinol is the part that helps with hyperpigmentation and lines while the salicylic stimulates exfoliation to help to clear up spots. These main players are set in a holding liquid of lightweight argan, rosehip and jojoba oils.  I’m assuming that nightly use will help to prevent further breakouts so if they’re a troublesome thing for you, perhaps it’s worth a second look. I don’t regularly use retinol – I trialled the Origins version which I loved and it did make a difference to my skin so on that count, if you want to dip your toes into retinol AND you have breakouts, this seems like a good enough place to start. It’s £69 HERE – postage is free.
