Biossance Squalene & Rose Vegan Lip Balm

[unpaid/affiliate/sample/ad] I have been waiting for what feels like weeks to get this post up – one of the nicest lip balms I’ve ever used. It seems that stock was delayed (this brand has had plenty of coverage across social media) so everyone wanted it but nobody could get it!

Biossance Squalene & Rose Vegan Lip Balm

Although I am biased towards lip balms because I use them so much, this is the one that is currently sitting by my desk that I’m dipping into daily. I featured ClinicBe Be Juicy which is more of a glossy conditioner earlier in the week and have that on hand for more shine, but Biossance is the daily work horse at the moment.

Although it’s a castor oil base, the addition of squalane (a hydrating lipid taken in this instance from renewable sugar cane) and hyaluronic acid takes it to a formula that’s punching high. It’s absolutely got the feel of a luxury balm. I’m a massive fan of Sisley lip balm which is roughly £50 a pot (and I do buy it) but I’d say that Biossance isn’t so far away from the same feel and effect but is £16. So, in that context, it’s representing great value for me although I quite see the point that you can buy a pot of Vaseline for £1. It’s a happy find for anyone with dry or creased lips although I think it’s time to invest in a lip brush to stop dipping fingers into the pot. I use sanitizer often enough that I do feel safe to dip, but I’m conscious of it in a way I wasn’t pre Covid. You can use an old gloss wand if you have one around which might be more practical because of the doe’s foot shape which holds to the lips so nicely.

I can’t say I noticed any plumping but certainly softened and comfortable lips – and joy! There’s no fragrance. It’s HERE, non affiliate HERE and exclusive to Cult Beauty. If you have anything to stock up now is a good time as Cult has a 19 piece ‘goody bag’ worth £235 with any £150 spend HERE.

This sounds lovely. How would you say it compares to the Omorovicza lip balm (which is my absolute favourite)? For some reason, my lips are constantly sore at the moment despite not going anywhere or doing anything!

It’s definitely in that same ‘luxury’ bracket in feel but I’d say its a bit more lightweight than Oromovicza.

Thank you. It sounds very good. I’ll probably order one tomorrow, knowing me.

  2. This one sounds promising! That Sisley lip balm is a personal favourite of mine too—allbeauty.com normally have it a bit cheaper than other stores. John x

Yes, I think I’ve had mine from Strawberry net for less as well – was perfectly alright x

The lip balm is on sale: 50% off. I bought 2 pots of this lip balm on the US website today (the retail price is $18, on sale it’s $9).

I also bought the 100 ml Squalene oil product which retails for $32, but I got a 15% discount on this for signing up to their newsletter.

Thanks for writing about the lip balm. I have horribly dry lips and I can’t seem to find a truly nourishing balm.

I don’t think it’s on sale in the UK – only the US e-commerce site comes up but definitely stock up because that is an absolute bargain!

I bought this after reading your review, Jane and have to say… I love it!! It feels really nourishing on and I’m so glad you flagged it up. Thank you for saving my dry, cracked lips ❤️
