Ooh, so these are lovely! Givenchy is giving their entire polish line a total upgrade with a new formula, new packaging and new shades. So far, so fabulous.
I’ll say ahead that I haven’t put these to a longevity test yet – but I cannot wait to get them on my nails. They’re voluptuous, full shades and I can straight away see and feel the difference in formula and texture. It’s ‘plumper’ and slightly thicker with an incredibly smooth application. Many of the luxury brands are overhauling their nail offerings – including Chanel – to bring brushes and formulas up to date and the first thing you’ll notice with the Givenchy Le Vernis Revamp is the brush is better. It gives a perfect distribution with one or two strokes giving a ‘glide’. The shades above are Light Pink Perfecto and Fushia Irresistible.
In this picture, it’s Noir Interdit – a blue tinged black. It’s made entirely of cyan, magenta and yellow which is what gives it the depth of tone and an otherness. The other shade is Pourpre Edgy that looks almost brown in the bottle but comes out as a winey-purple.
Finally, of the samples I have here, it’s Mandarine Bolero which I think is first on my nails. With the exception of Light Pink Perfecto which is just a bit pale for me (great for a bride though) I’m spoiled for choice here.
So nearest to furthest: Pourpre Edgy, Fushia Irresistible, Noir Interdit (or Revelateur – the release and the bottle say different things), Light Pink Perfecto, and Mandarine Bolero. They’re £18.50 each (which in the mad world of luxury beauty seems quite reasonable but it’s £1 more than the previous version) HERE.
