CHANEL Le Vernis Reformulation

[unpaid/sample] There are quite a few new drops from CHANEL (and MAC) so I’ll start with the newly formulated nail lacquer. As someone who distinctly remembers the Rouge Noir mania, followed by the Jade mania, Chanel’s nail polishes have always made something of a splash. Their base coat is my absolute favourite, followed by their quick dry top coat. However, lets not shy away from the suggestions that they chipped quite easily – I used to paint my nails so often (super relaxing, I love it) that nothing much ever had time to chip so I never really had an issue with it.

As you might expect, the brand has given consideration to the colour families and they’re split into Energize, Soothe, Joy, Disrupt and Strength (comprising the reds, including Rouge Noir – I had a moment of panic when I couldn’t see it on the chart!).

The brush is a little wider than previous iterations so it’s really just one stroke for each nail and two coats is all you’ll need. I have four shades here to show you but that Immortelle lavender shade is also calling my name.

Left to right: Diva, Duelliste, Fabuliste and Premier Dame. What I’ve noticed from the shades I have here is that they all have a creamy element to the colours which softens their intensity – it’s a very luxurious finish that looks close to gel. Warm beige shade, Legende, is apparently going to be the sell out.

On the nail wheel from left to right: Diva, Duelliste, Fabuliste and Premier Dame. Obviously, Premier Dame wins it hands down for me :-). They’re £29 each HERE.

Time is collapsing for me; I could have sworn that they just reformulated the nail polishes, but that was probably five years ago?

I wonder what are the differences between Oiseau de Nuit and Rouge Noir. I have Rouge Noir and like Rouge Noir but I don’t think anything will ever measure up to the OG Vamp!

      I don’t know! Maybe so… I can’t remember either !
