Avon Gel Finish Nailwear gives exactly what it promises in terms of super-shine and bright shades. As you can see, I tried the blue shade – Royal Vendetta – and without thinking I would, I absolutely love it. There are 24 shades split into colour categories; Paintball is all the brights you can see in the picture, Wild Orchid is where the deeper, darker shades of red and purple live, and Gelato is a fondant shade collection (including the top two shades in the main pic, Barely There and Sheer Love).
When it goes onto the nail the formula is exceptionally smooth – an absolute dream to apply and you will need two coats (even though they suggest one). It’s billed as basecoat, colour and topcoat all in one in a strengthening formula and I think they’re extremely good value at £7 each. Obviously, from the name, the Avon Gel Finish Nailwear is supposed to give that extreme shine gel nail finish – and yes.. it really does, but it takes a long time to dry so you’ll need to allow extra drying time.
I didn’t know whether adding a quick dry top coat would add shine or knock down the shine so I didn’t add it for the pictures. These launch in April 2014.
