[unpaid/sample] If you’re a mid-lifer, I imagine that on first look, Zoeva Velvet Love Liquid Highlighting Blush doesn’t seem like it’s targeted to you. But, this is the same with so much amazing make up that just so happens to be perfect for older skin. It’s funny because there are brands out there producing products specifically for generations – teens, twenties and thirties mainly – that are creating exactly the looks and textures that we want past 50. On Substack, writer Jenni Baden Howard HERE has written a feature on Glossier because it’s such a prime example of accidental mid-life make-up. My Substack is HERE if you want to find an ad-free version of this site with some additional paywalled content.

There are a couple of things you need to know before you use these – first, when you take the lid off you need to twist the top to allow the product to soak through the sponge. Don’t forget to turn it off again when you’re done. The second thing is don’t apply directly to the cheeks – it’s just way too much product (unless you want to be found via satellite). Use a blush brush to pick up the liquid from the sponge and take it to your cheeks that way.

There are two shades – Pink Nectar (below) and Peach Nectar (above).

It’s not a sunny day but the product is still catching the light and adding just a dot of colour as well. What I like about this product is that it is so easy to use and the finish is lightly glowy and fresh. It’s £24.50 (more expensive than I thought it would be and I am sure there are less expensive alternatives around) HERE.
