The YSL Autumn Collection 2015 is hitting the shelves as I write so I’m popping up the swatches that I’ve done (yes, I forgot to do them earlier!). The star of the show is the palette… Couture Palette Collector in Metal Clash and they’ve been rather adventurous with this I think.
I think if you love those very burnished, deep autumnal shades you’ll love this. YSL has put together a dirty red with a pale lilac amongst a light gold, deep brown and dark purple – I don’t know how to make that work! But, it’s very dramatic and I think, interesting.
There are three light filled Gloss Volupte – I have Rose Lurex and Rose Strass here but I’m intrigued by Violet Sequins; a soft grey to layer over other shades.
YSL glosses aren’t long lasters – they don’t have a lot of stick to them but they’re some of the softest most sensory glosses around and feel almost like water on the lips. If you’re up for the reapplication, these literally gleam on the lips.
I posted last week on the Kajals which I love, so this is quickly a reminder. I like the idea of wearing them under a metallic shade to give a really dark base if you want to do those deep, deep eyes. There are lipsticks in the YSL Autumn Collection 2015 – three of them, but between the brand and me we got in a muddle (sometimes samples are not named, or not correctly named) so I’ll leave those out for now. Most of the collection has made it onto Selfridges (HERE), but annoyingly, not the palette yet. Glosses, yes, kajals yes, but no sign of that palette.
