I’m really impressed with the pigment power of the Stila Stay All Day Matte’ificant Lipstick collection. These are highly intense shades but at the same time, very wearable. They’re smooth on the lips and deliver all of the colour in one swipe – but go ahead with more if you want an even deeper look.
There are also lip-liners in the same colour intensity and density. They’re impressively creamy but I found in testing that I broke the tips of two of them so I’m not sure how accurate you can truly be round the lip line. Certainly they aren’t as sharp as using a pencil, but then neither are they so harsh.
See what I mean about the intensity? Stila Stay All Day Matte’ificant Lipstick is doing a better job on pigment than many much more expensive brands – these are £15 each which seems very reasonable considering the quality. When it comes to whether they stay all day, I think it’s down to how careful you are with your lipwear. You can’t eat a salad drenched in oil (or any oils) without the oil melting away some of the lip cover; if you spend the day sipping at water, your lipstick won’t move an inch for hours. If you’re a habitual lip licker (I think I might be) then again, that will affect last, as will wearing a balm underneath because the formula can’t adhere well enough to your lip skin to stay. I found this had good last even though I didn’t take care of it – although I only wore it for a morning. The shades above are: Soiree, Bordeaux and Mon Ami from a selection of 12.
You can see where the point broke in the middle swatch in the matching lip liners. But, you can also see how creamy they are. I definitely recommend these as mid-priced mattes behaving way more expensive. They’re HERE.
