Gosh, my eyes needed to see this today! The Sleek MakeUP Whimsical Wonderland is super pretty and spot on for summer. All sorts of things are going on in the BBB household including my dog Honey being very, very poorly, so when I opened this I think it was my first smile in at least 48 hours. Before you sideline this collection as falling into a youth category, I’d agree with you on the palette because unless you are festivaling, this requires some dedication to make it work. But, the little blushes that you’ll see in a moment – they’re fabulous for sheer skin, summery looks at any age.
See! How pretty are the Sweet Cheek Blushes at £5.99 each. This is my favourite kind of summer blush because it’s all about the nuance of colour and rosy, fresh looking cheeks.
Here they are swatched – excuse the awful looking scratch; I had a rumble with a rose bush! The shades are Tomfoolery (deep raspberry/mauve), Hullabaloo (fresh pink and my top pick for all tones) and Licketysplit (orange).
For me personally, it’s a shame these shades are matte, but they’re more of a semi-matte than a deep and dry one. I’ve fallen into the usual blogger fail pit and taken the lids off before making a note of the colours and the shade names are on the lids (big mistake I think… it’s easier to lose a lid than it is a bullet). In any case, while I have a launch date of today, none of it is up on line yet, so I may be able to pop back on this post and add them in.
Whatever they’re called, they’re lovely shades – not sure I could do the lilac but my eyes are drawn to the coral pink. They’re £5.50.
Here’s the top row of the palette: Carousel, Shoot The Chutes, Loop The Loop, Ferris Wheel, Twister and Teacups.
Followed by the second row: Hit The Bell, Swing Boats, Hook A Duck, Helter Skelter, Dodgems and Hall Of Mirrors. I don’t know whether Sleek has changed supplier but I feel like this palette is better quality than others have been.
I love the fairground connections and all the vibrancy of this collection. It’s sweet, summery and fun. Not sure of launch date but keep an eye out on the Sleek site HERE.
